Talk on Cryopreservation and Genetic Stability on Yams Species (Dioscorea Spp.)
Semuel Leunufna is an associate professor at the Pattimura University, Ambon, Maluku, Indonesia. He received his PhD. on plant genetic conservation at the Martin Luther University, Halle-Wittenberg, Germany, and MSc. on Plant Breeding at the Crop #Science Department University of Guelph, Canada. Prior to the completion of PhD degree, he took part in a one year advanced training on the Utilization of Plan Genetic Resources as a Contribution to Food Security in Germany. He was attached for one year as a teaching and researching staff at the Genetic laboratory of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Bogor Agricultural University (MIPA-IPB), employed as a scientific staff at the Institute for Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research (IPK), Gatersleben, Germany. Dr. Leunufna has published a great number of articles in scientific journals and been invited as keynote speaker in a number of international conferences. He serves as the director of the Center for the Conservation of Maluku’s Biodiversity (CCMB) as well as the head of Maluku Branch of the Indonesian Association for Agricultural Meteorology (PERHIMPI).
