FBI agent Joe (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his partner Catherine (Abbie Cornish) are investigating a serial murder case that is so vicious and illogical that the two agents are at a loss. They find John (Anthony Hopkins), a psychic detective who has been in hiding for years, and hope to use his supernatural powers to find useful clues.
