UN special rapporteur Francesca Albanese said that the Israeli government and military forces have intentionally violated international humanitarian law “to legitimise genocidal violence against the Palestinian people.”

Presenting her report at the 55th session of the Geneva-based Human Rights Council on Tuesday, Albanese further added that Israel has intentionally manipulated the meanings of terms related to protection and safety, such as “human shield,” “evacuation orders,” and “safe zones.”
