I’ve always been of manual transmissions and I’ll be adding the 2023 Toyota GR Supra’s to that list. One of my biggest criticism of the automatic Supra was its unpredictability of the power delivery during downshifts. The 6-speed manual is the solution to that.

The longer gearing from first to fifth in the manual, made the rear feel more stable. Although you’ll lose some time from 0-60mph, I feel that I would clock in a faster track lap. The reason is because I felt more in control of the Supra’s 3.0L inline 6-cylinder’s power delivery.

I’m glad Toyota decided to add a third pedal to the GR Supra because it changed the exhilarating feel for the better. If you’re an automatic Supra owner, I suggest you go to your nearest dealer and get yourself a manual model.
