A short video showing how I removed and replaced the upper control arm ball joints on my Thailand built (MNT) 2011 Nissan Navara D40 2.5 litre YD25 diesel.
Thai are 46.2mm diameter.
It's the same for Pathfinder, Xterra and Frontier
You need the universal ball joint removal kit available for about $AUD65.
I used 25mm extended joints to stop the upper control arm hitting the strut tower. This is a common problem after installing heavy duty suspension that raises the vehicle thus bringing the upper control arm closer to the strut tower.
The Spain built (VSK) version has the clip on top of the BJ. It's a reverse of what I did. Push the BJ down to remove and up to install. The universal kit has enough fittings and spacers to find a combination that works.
When pressing in the new joints make sure the cup and socket are deep enough for the threaded shaft of the ball joint. You don't want the shaft to hit the bottom as you won't be able to press it in. It won't have anywhere to go. #balljoints #nissannavara

The vehicle has heavy duty suspension which lifted the roof about 45mm.
