Wishing everyone a happy New Year from here! ✨

On the last night of 2023, I was strolling through the streets of Shenzhen, and I suddenly felt like time is really flying by.
China is a bit different from other countries because it wasn't until the end of last year that China relaxed pandemic control measures, allowing people to freely walk the streets. So, 2023 was a special year for China. Nobody likes to have their freedom restricted, and nobody wants to go through the pain of being sick. Therefore, it's hard to judge whether the government's lockdown policies are good or bad because the meaning varies for different people.

Due to a last-minute government notice (concerned about the risk of crowded stampedes), there were no fireworks or celebration performances on New Year's Eve. Nevertheless, as I observed the bustling crowd, everyone's faces were lit up with joyful smiles, and no one seemed disappointed. Walking down the street, everything felt so laid-back. Perhaps on the last day of the year, people can tell themselves: forget the troubles of the past, look forward to the new year, strive to become a better version of themselves, and embrace a more exciting tomorrow.
