For years, everyone wondered why Ram didn’t counter the Ford F-150 Raptor with a proper truck of its own. Yeah, the Ram 1500 TRX was something special — incredible off-road gear, a screaming 707-horsepower Hellcat V-8, wild styling — but it also came with a $100,000 price tag, effectively making it a block of milled unobtanium for a lot of off-roaders.

Well, for 2025, Ram has fixed this omission and created the 1500 RHO. It’s not a replacement for the TRX; rather, it’s the Raptor fighter enthusiasts have always wanted Ram to create. A powerful twin-turbo six-cylinder engine making 540 hp. All of the high-tech off-road suspension wizardry of the TRX, like Bilstein Black Hawk e2 remote-reservoir shock absorbers. No fewer than nine different drive modes. And it all comes in a package that costs around $72,000 (including delivery), which is more than eight grand less than where the F-150 Raptor starts. More power, more capability, awesome tech and more than 10% cheaper than its main competitor? Sign us up!

Cars.com Detroit Bureau Chief Aaron Bragman looked at the new ‘25 Ram 1500 RHO at the truck’s unveiling in Detroit recently, and it’s only made him more excited to drive the thing later in 2024. What do you think about it? Leave your opinions in the comments below.
