Ford claims they took a life-size digital scan of a first-generation model that served to influence the proportions and design of the all-new Bronco. The square proportions, short overhangs and wide stance are optimized are designed for off-road adventure, and The side profile features a flat, surface with clear-cut edges and flared fenders. The front fenders also serve as tie-downs, and, have a 150-pound capacity. These models have removable roof and door panels on elect models.The 4-door comes standard with a soft-top roof but the owner can choose both soft and modal roofs if they like. There are even over 200 factory-backed accessories that the dealer can install. The new Bronco comes standard with a 2.3L eEcoBoost 4-cylinder with 270hp and 310lb.-ft of torque. The same 2.7L EcoBoost engine used in the F-150 is available as an option with 310hp and 400lb.-ft. of torque. The Bronco is available with a 7-speed manual transmission, the first in a truck, and an optional 10-speed auto. Bronco’s Terrain Management System with G.O.A.T. Modes help drivers navigate any type of terrain, with up to seven driver-selectable modes. The Bronco can also be equipped with 35-inch off-road tires available from the factory on every trim. There are two 4x4 systems will be offered on all Bronco models, a base setup and advanced 4x4. The base system utilizes a two-speed electronic shift-on-the-fly transfer case, while the optional system features a two-speed transfer case that adds an auto mode for on-demand engagement to select between 2H and 4H. Power is distributed to a Dana solid rear axle and Dana independent front differential unit – both with available electronic locking differentials for improved traction. There is an available semi-active hydraulic stabilizer-bar disconnect for maximum articulation and increased ramp angle for off-camber terrain. . There is also Trail Control, cruise control for low-speed trail driving and Trail One-Pedal Drive acceleration/braking control makes for more precise and confident slow-mode rock crawling. Ford claims Bronco has best-in-class 11.6-inch ground clearance, maximum 29-degree break-over angle and 37.2-degree departure angle, plus best-in-class water fording capability of up to 33.5 inches. Inside is a retro inspired yet modern dash, even available with the new 12-inch SYNC 4 system that was recently shown in the new F-150. Just like the Wrangler, the dash and grab handles are off-road inspired but the Bronco also has an bring your own device panel attachment points built into the instrument panel. Some Bronco models come with washable rubberized floors with integrated drains and marine-grade vinyl seating surfaces. Instrument panel surfaces are wipeable with seamless silicone rubber on the dash-mounted switches, and rubber touch-points protect against dirt and water. The Bronco starts at roughy $40,000 in the Canadian market. Now on to the Bronco Sport. Just like the larger Bronco 2 and 4-door modelsThe Bronco Sport has an upright design and safari-style roof, which delivers a long flat roof rail for maximum carrying length, it also helps inside with what Ford claims is best-in-class first- and second-row headroom. The design inspiration is directly linked to the all-new Bronco larger model. Its has signature Bronco-inspired grille, round headlamps, clean, flat bodysides, and short front and rear overhangs for off-road driving.tBadlands models come standard with 28.5-inch-diameter all-terrain tires; 29-inch all-terrain off-road tires with more aggressive, deeper treads that stretch on to the sidewalls to help improve off-road traction are available. Ford claims the cargo area has enough height to accommodate two 27.5-inch-wheel mountain bikes standing with the available Yakima dealer-installed interior bike rack accessory. Bronco Sport has an available slide-out working table, part of the five-way configurable available Cargo Management System, plus a Bronco Sport will launch with more than 100 factory-backed accessories. The inside has an 8-inch SYNC3 system and Badlands models have washable rubber flooring and easy clean surfaces, even silicone sealed switches for easy wipe down. This Bronco Sport comes with seven available G.O.A.T. Modes™ helps drivers “go over any type of terrain” and in various conditions. Standard modes include Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery and Sand; Mud/Ruts and Rock Crawl modes. Unlike the larger Bronco, this Sport has front and rear independent suspension. There is a Badlands model available with 46mm diameter rear shocks and softer springs for more aggressive off-road driving, providing more articulation. Under the hood is an optional 2.0L EcoBoost engine with 245hp and 275lb.-ft. of torque, similar to the engine used in Escape. Just like Escape there is a base 1.5L engine with 181hp and 190lb.-ft. of torque.
