Is the lingam really an ancient spark gap?!

So, I was just working in my lab on the world's first water cooled spark gap, and well, I do study a lot of ancient history...

...throwing some bits together really quick, I think I've rudimentarily demonstrated the principles of how / what a lingam actually is, and possibly why it requires 'water' to be poured on it =)

There are no coils involved to power this 'temple' - the setup wirelessly sends power to the light using only the spark gap, by fluctuating the local ground / earth with massive jolts of power!

Just, whaaaaaat?!!

By the way, without water cooling, the lingam / electrodes would melt / catch on fire pretty quick...

I'm going to make a video showing a proper model / demonstration of this, but, hold on one minute - whaaaaaaaat?!!?
