Skoda has announced a series of meaningful updates for its popular Enyaq iV electric SUV range for the 2024 model year. The upgrades bring more power, faster charging capabilities, and increased driving range across the board.

The revised nomenclature better reflects the improved performance, with the Enyaq 80 now called Enyaq 85 and the Enyaq 80x now labeled Enyaq 85x. The entry-level 60 variant is unchanged. Both the 85 and 85x versions now make 286 horsepower, up substantially from 204 hp in the old 80 and 265 hp in the 80x. Torque sees similar gains.

This boosts 0-62 mph acceleration times, with the Enyaq 85 able to hit the mark in 6.7 seconds and the heavier AWD 85x doing it in 6.6 seconds. Top speed rises over 12 mph to 111 mph for both upgraded models. These represent solid performance gains that make the Enyaq feel even more responsive.

Despite retaining the same 77 kWh battery capacity for the 85 and 85x, maximum driving range sees healthy improvements thanks to enhanced battery and energy management tech. The RWD Enyaq 85 can now travel 351 miles on a charge, up from 339 miles. Remarkably, the heavier AWD Enyaq 85x sees its range grow to 328 miles from 317 miles previously. Only the entry Enyaq 60 retains its 58 kWh battery and 249 mile range.

DC fast charging capacity grows to 135 kW for the 85 and a very impressive 175 kW for the Enyaq 85x. This enables the AWD model to charge from 10 to 80 percent in around 29 minutes, seven minutes quicker than before.

On the tech front, Skoda has introduced redesigned infotainment graphics and displays for easier use and clarity. The navigation system, charging screens, and vehicle data layouts are more intuitive while still providing robust functionality. The all-digital instrument cluster and available head-up display also gain sharper, more legible graphics.

Two new Enyaq models make their debut - the well-equipped 60 Edition and 85 Edition. These add extras like keyless entry, adaptive cruise control, matrix LED headlights, tri-zone automatic climate control, and more for reasonable price premiums over the standard versions. AWD also now comes standard on the sporty Enyaq SportLine Plus model.

Minor feature additions like rear side airbags, an electric tailgate, and traffic sign recognition expand the Enyaq’s already comprehensive equipment list across the range. Top-spec models now include goodies like rear window sunshades, an electric driver’s seat, and trailer hitch socket.

With the upgrades for 2024, Skoda has enhanced an already compelling electric SUV package. The increases in power and range, while notable on their own, combine with the Enyaq’s practical cabin and cargo space, sharp handling dynamics, and value pricing to make it even more competitive.
