The Volkswagen Golf R is a seriously capable hot hatch with AWD. To celebrate the hero Golf’s 20th anniversary, there’s this, the Golf R 20 Years. Just 50 were offered this morning to Australian buyers and the 20 Years was sold out within half an hour, despite costing $77,490 before on-road costs ($10,500 more than a normal Golf R).

Orders of the regular Golf R hatch remain paused due to tight supply while the Golf R wagon was sadly discontinued this week. The Golf R competes with the Audi S3 and RS3, Mercedes-AMG A35 and A45, BMW M135i and others.
