Israeli director Natalie Assouline chronicles the lives of women who are serving time in prison for involvement in terrorist attacks in Israel. The intimate portrait, filmed over the course of two years, tries to uncover the motivations behind the actions of these women. There is no black or white in this film, only painful shades of gray. What is that motivating power, which is more compelling then the natural maternal desire to protect her children at all cost? The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has witnessed a large scale of women involved in terrorist attacks in Israel and the West Bank. his documentary searches to understand how a woman, a mother, is capable of committing such a horrific act. How can she take part in the death of children and babies? How can she leave her own children motherless?
