In this video, we'll paint up Wojtek, Poland's legendary beer-drinking, fighting soldier bear! In the Summer of 1942, soldiers of the Polish 22nd Artillery Supply Company took in an orphaned bear cub while stationed in Iran & named him Wojtek, or "Happy Warrior." For the next three years, Wojtek would travel everywhere with the men of the 22nd, even officially joining the unit at the rank of Private before the Battle of Monte Cassino in 1944. Wojtek served his adopted country by helping to carrying heavy ammunition crates through to the war's end when he went into a well-earned retirement at the Edinburgh Zoo.

Today, we'll paint up this lovely 1/35 bear figure from Mantis Miniatures in the likeness of the legendary Polish fighting bear.
