Hi there. Firstly may i say there are rubber ferrules for the sticks. Sorry I didn't show them.
The brass tip is there to protect the wooden end grain from impacts and moister and is there to except a rubber ferrule.

This video is about me making a few walking stick or canes for presents for Christmas. I know there are many ways to make walking sticks. But this is my way. I'm not saying these are the best ways to make a cane or stick. but some people may take ideas. Ok, my methods are not always the quickest, best or safest ways to work. but the sticks came out ok. I'm pleased with the results.
I will remove the rest from the lathe when I'm sanding in the future
Also, I will roll my sleeves up next time I use my lathe. Thank you for your concern.
