The Wood By Wright Hand Tool Build-Off is in full swing, and I've made this simple marking knife using a hacksaw blade. Check out the video here to see the video about the Build-Off:    • Hand Tool Build Off Kick Off

Also, check out Pask Makes to see what he does with a hacksaw blade... Hint, it's awesome!

What I did in this video:
-Annealed the hardened blade with a propane torch.
-Filed the teeth away.
-Sanded the sides
-Hammered the waves out of the blade as much as possible.
-Used tin snips to make the general shape of the blade/tip.
-Sanded the tip to refine the shape and make the actual blade edge.
-Used sharpening stones to get the edge close to ready.
-Took a scrap piece of walnut to make a handle.
-Super-glued the handle on.
-Shaped the handle with a block plane and some sanding.
-Used Mahoney's Walnut Oil (not sponsored--but was a gift!) for finish.

If you are interested in the walnut oil, Woodcraft has it here (not an affiliate link). It's food safe, which is great: https://www.woodcraft.com/products/ma...
