The 2020 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak, wasn’t the only 1,000+ horsepower Mopar shaking up the 2019 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas. Over in the MagnaFlow booth, both Magnaflow and our friends over at SpeedKore Performance Group were unveiling a monster of their own. You might remember us talking about a carbon fiber twin-turbo all-wheel-drive Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody that was going to make its debut, well it did, and it was even more amazing than what we originally thought.
What might shock people, is this car originally started out as a 2019 Dodge Charger Pursuit not a 2020 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Widebody. Dodge did send the team at SpeedKore a pre-production 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody to 3D scan, to allow the necessary mold to produce a 2020 Dodge Charger Widebody kit that they could cast in carbon fiber. The car features a pre-preg carbon-fiber front bumper, fender flare set, factory rocker set, hood, rear spoiler, rear bumper, and rear diffuser.
When it comes to what is under the hood, the powerplant is the same twin-turbocharged 6.2-liter HEMI Demon V8 that can be found in the record-setting SpeedKore Dodge Challenger SRT Demon driven by NHRA Top Fuel driver Leah Pritchett. The motor was modified by Gearhead Fabrication, who replaced the factory 2.7-liter IHI supercharger with two Precision 6466 ball-bearing billet turbochargers with a custom-designed upper plenum designed and engineered by the SpeedKore team. To handle the increased boost levels, the motor was fitted with custom Thitek heads and a Boost Leash co2 progressive boost controller. A Fore Innovations triple-pump fuel system using Injector Dynamics 1,700cc injectors delivers E85 fuel to the 1,525 horsepower rated motor. That’s right, 1,525 horsepower!
Thanks to MagnaFlow, the one-off Dodge Charger features a custom-valve exhaust system that exits out from the front bumper for track use and can be easily switched over to flow through a MagnaFlow Competition Series exhaust for street driving. The MagnaFlow Competition Series exhaust features 3-inch stainless steel and exits out through the rear polished tips. HP Tuners provided special calibration software which allowed the twin-turbo HEMI to produce 1,525 horsepower at the crank with a modest 26 pounds of boost during its initial dyno-tuning session.
Of course, this isn't the rumored angel Charger, but that also doesn't exist. This is an awesome build that was commissioned by a private owner.
