Today I want to share my best, most clinically effective natural remedies for acne, for real.

The top foods that cause acne and that you have to stop eating if your serious about having healthy skin are:

1. Sugar (includes refined grains) causes acne in 2 ways: It causes insulin to spike and insulin leads to the release of androgen hormones which drive oil secretion in the skin. 2nd, sugar feeds the bad bacteria and contributes to an imbalance. Sugar can also inflame the skin.

2. Dairy causes acne much the same way sugar does - it leads to a spike in insulin and in turn more oils are secreted. Dairy is also another inflammatory food for many people's skin!

3. Greasy fast foods - they're rich in corn, soy, or other hydrogenated plant oils. These oils are full of omega-6 fats, which in abundance, create inflammation. This imbalance of omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids pushes the body into an inflammatory state, which may worsen acne severity

4. Lastly, ANY food that you're sensitive too! Food sensitivities can lead to inflammation in various parts of the body. Buy anyone who has skin issues should get a food sensitivity done!

Now that your diet is cleaned up, what else takes care of acne?

1. Vitamin A: sweet potato, carrots, pumpkin, red/orange peppers, broccoli, black eye peas and cod liver oil are rich in this vitamin. Make sure your diet contains plenty of vitamin A-rich foods - vitamin A is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory for the skin.

2. Zinc: Decreases oil production in the skin, and can protect against bacterial infection and inflammation as well

3. Probiotics, even taken internally can help balance the bacteria on our skin as well. Remember part of acne is that it's also a bacterial imbalance.

4. Omega-3s: These oils are essential for health and oppose the inflammation brought about by omega-6 oils.

If you clean up your diet and get these nutrients into your regimen, acne and the underlying inflammation in your skin will resolve and your skin will be very clear!
