Mercedes Metris wheelchair van. The Mercedes Metris has become very popular in the world of taxi, livery, rideshare and wheelchair accessibility. As you may know, I am based out of New York City and the Metris is one of the most desired vehicles here in the world of vans with Mercedes-Benz. In 2018, the Taxi and Limousine Commission put a halt to allowing new TLC plates with the exception of them having a wheelchair handicap accessibility package. The city was attempting to achieve a certain (higher) percentage of wheelchair accessible vans so that people in wheelchairs had a fair shot when looking for transportation. As of today, February 2021, the halt is still in effect and the Mercedes Metris is continuing to grow in the market.
