Hotel du Parc Gin Cocktail - Cocktails After Dark
Welcome back, friends! Join us for another round of "Cocktails After Dark" as we dive into a classic gin & Cointreau cocktail from Ted Saucier's 1951 volume, "Bottoms Up." However, since I'm flying (piloting) tomorrow, we're putting a twist on one with a gin substitute that still packs a punch of flavour without breaking any aviation rules.
Exploring Canadian Air regulations (602.03), I'll be well within the guidelines for safe Piloting. I'll be using Seedlip Grove 42, a citrus-flavored non-alcoholic spirit, while Julie opts for a Quebec gin with a blueberry-forward profile. And yes, there's a touch of Cointreau for that perfect hint of sweetness.

Watch as we juice mandarins, shake up the cocktails with ice, and unveil the surprising colour difference in our drinks. Despite the same ingredients, the unique flavours of each cocktail shine through. Whether you're on the lookout for a zero-alcohol option or a low-alcohol treat, this cocktail experiment has something for everyone.

I will once again be flying in the Give Hope Wings fundraiser this year! Our June of 2024 flight will see us stop in many communities in Eastern Canada to raise awareness for this worthy cause.
Last year 2023 we raised over $27,000 towards helping our neighbours - we made a positive difference in the lives of many.
Here's the link to the 2024 fundraiser page: https://support.hopeair.ca/ghw2024/gl...

We no longer do sponsorships or paid promotions of any kind; we tried it a couple of times but it never felt right. So if you want to support us, please subscribe, watch, comment and like the videos; maybe even go a step farther and recommend them to your friends and family. This channel is nothing without you our viewers! Thanks for watching the Old Cookbook Show and our Historical Cooking.
