Burt is a 1989 talbot express. I got him in the summer of 2020 and moved in pretty much straight away. I did make some adjustments which I will get to later in the video. Before this, I lived in a smaller, jankier van for a few years while I was at university. I got into vanlife because of watching YouTube videos of people living this simplistic travel life and I'm so grateful I was in the position to actually give it a go. I decided to not go for a set job and instead, work on becoming a freelance filmmaker after university, so that’s what I did.

After I got Burt, I started spending all my money on fixing him up and making him functional enough to live in. I first ripped out the old bathroom and water heater, fixed up the floor under the fridge, built the standing desk, and replaced a few old parts. Then I went on some pretty fun trips during the summer, broke down multiple times, and spent a lot of money fixing up Burt. I pretty much traveled to wherever I had work and lived in Burt on the way. I will make a video on my whole vanlife story in the future. It got complicated at some points and it’s been quite a journey.
