It’s time for BMW EV vs ICE head-to-head! Mat’s sat in a true BMW behemoth, the X7 M50i, and he’s lining up against the all-electric iX 50!

Trust us, this one is going to be close…

Starting with the X7, it’s powered by a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 that can deliver 530hp & 750Nm of torque. It comes equipped with all-wheel drive as well as launch control, and it tips the scales at an almighty 2,490kg!

However, the iX isn’t exactly a slouch! Its two electric motors put down 523hp (just 7 less than the X7), and it’s actually up on torque, producing 765Nm! It’s slightly heavier though, weighing in at 2,520kg.

So, they’re pretty even, but does electric have what it takes to bring down petrol? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!
