Learn and enjoy the HeartMath Heart Focused Breathing Technique ™ with HeartMath UK + IRL Managing Director, Gavin Andrews. Coherence Breath Pacer provided by Syntropy (https://www.syntropystates.com).

Heart Focused Breathing is a simple coherence technique and forms the foundation for all HeartMath’s techniques.

Focus your attention in the area of your heart. Imagine your breath is flowing into and out of your heart or chest area, breathing a little slower and deeper than usual.

Tips: Placing your hand over your heart as you breathe can help you to direct and sustain your focus into your heart. Try breathing breathe at a pace of about 5 or 6 seconds for your in breath and 5 or 6 seconds for your out breath. Alternatively find a pace that is comfortable for you. Breathe in and out through your nose, relax your belly and try to make your breath smooth, unforced, and comfortable. Although this technique is simple, at first it may feel unusual but with a little practice it will become natural and enjoyable.

Heart Focused Breathing can be practised with eyes open or closed pretty much any time, any place, so it’s easy to integrate into your day and can add lots of benefits to your wellbeing. Many people find that Heart Focused Breathing is a great way to start and finish their days. And there are times in between too when it is particularly beneficial, like when you are stressed, need to calm your mind or interact more harmoniously with others. Try it any time you want to quickly rebalance and return to the best version of yourself.
