After receiving my new Sirui SH25 tripod the day before, @TrainNut85 and I decided to head towards Chattanooga for the day. We started off at Wauhatchie where we would catch NS 363 with an all-Dash 9 lashup, NS 283, NS 286, and NS 16T with a KCS duo on the point. Upon hearing that CSXT M580-21 was near Dalton, GA, we headed to Cromwell Road in Chattanooga to wait on it. On the way, we happened upon TVRM's dinner train while heading up Holtzclaw Ave. After reaching Cromwell, we learned that M580 was still in the Dalton area, so we decided to head to TVRM to catch the Evening Ridge Runner with SOU #4501, which had a different whistle for once. As darkness fell, and after seeing #4501 depart thought we would miss M580, but with a stroke of luck, it got held up right at the Cromwell Road crossing. It turns out the local was switching just up the way, allowing us to set up and catch M580's departure. On the point of M580 was CSXT #7929, an ex-LMSX Dash 8. It's the only one left on CSXT's roster, and the fact that it was leading made it even better. We would head back to Kimball for a late dinner before making our way back to our homes.
