Buick is by no means a car company that is associated with cool cars, they really do not have any models that appeal to the speed junkies or young kids. However, back in the 80’s Buick was racin’ in NASCAR, and after finding success in the racing world, Buick decided to build a fast car for normies. In 1987 Buick gave us the Grand National! The Buick Grand National was a Buick Regal named after the Regal’s success at the NASCAR Grand National. This new special edition of the Regal came in one color only, black. It was also much faster, rivaled the Chevrolet Corvette, and had sweet Grand National badges. But just how exactly did Buick make the Grand National special? And why did it become the dream car for Abel Ibarra? Abel has built and driven some of the fastest rotary-powered vehicles ever, so why is his dream car a Buick Grand National? Just watch the vid!

Huge thanks to Abel Ibarra for letting us film his Buick Grand National!
