The Idahoan shares his paraphrase of the 72nd Psalm.

Lyrics:

When the Son of David stands as God’s appointed King,
His reign unto these lands shall peace and justice bring,
Like water streaming from the hills, the runoff of the spring,
And like abundant showers that set al verdure to growing,
So that the righteous flourish under His governance,
For His people He shall nourish with abundant providence!

Salvation for the needy in His Kingdom shall abound,
And verdicts of equity for e’en the poorest shall be found,
For all men, both rich and poor are precious in His sight.
Oppressors He shall shatter in the power of His might,
All shadows of injustice scatter in His kingdom of light,

All kings shall fall prostrate on the ground before His feet,
And pay Him tribute at the rate that He considers meet,
While His foes shall lick the dust as they cower in defeat!
His illustrious kingdom shall extend, unending in both space and time,
From sea, to sea, unto earth’s end, all men shall fear His Name,
From generation to generation and age to endless age the same,
‘Long as sun and moon their courses run, and earth retains her frame!

Wherefore with gladness bless His Name and bless the Lord on high!
Bless Him for His wondrous works in earth and sea and sky!
For all creation overflows with the blessings of His hand,
When all nations He overthrows and comes to reign o’er ev’ry land!
Let prayer and praises e’er ascend to Him in glory without end!
