In Quran 5:22, Moses tells the people to enter the land that God has promised them, and they express concern about its inhabitants. Dr. Shabir Ally shows that the Arabic term used to describe the inhabitants could refer to power and fierceness, but the Quranic commentators spun fanciful tales, writing that the the people were so giant they could reach down into the ocean, grab a fish and roast it in the eye of the sun, and when they were thirsty, they would hook the clouds and drink from them.
