We pit the $163 DNA GT45 clone from EBay against the $649 S475 Turbo from Summit Racing. The test motor was a 5.3L with forged internals, a set of TFS 205 heads and Summit Pro LS Stage 3 turbo cam. The GT45 clone would only support 10.5 psi at the power peak, making less than 800 hp. The Summit turbo exceeded 923 hp at 15.3 psi and still had more left. The question-Is the extra 200 hp offered by the Summit turbo worth the difference in cost, or should you just buy 2 GT45 turbos and call it good?
