Mycotech produces Mylea – vegan leather made from mushrooms. Mylea is a locally sourced sustainable alternative to animal and synthetic leather production. Its benefits are striking: it is quick to produce, needs little water or energy, grows on organic waste and can be produced by local farmers. Mycotech’s team of young Indonesian entrepreneurs collaborates with designers to develop Mylea into end products using co-creative profit-sharing schemes. Beyond producing this innovative material; they aim to create more eco-consciousness in the fashion industry.
