“In te Domine speravi,” was composed by Mr. Michele Saladino (1835-1912). The piece is based on Psalm 70:1 (Vulgate Bible). It is a motet for 3 voices (Tenor, Tenor, Bass).

The piece was published in 1903 in the Secunda anthologia vocalis (liturgica), number 102, Cantus sacri tribus vocibus aequalibus. It was edited by Oreste Ravanello and published by Marcello Capra in Torino, Italy.

The Yonsei University Church, founded on the spirit of Yonsei University, is a faith community of those under the pastoral care of the chaplaincy, which includes professors, staff, students, and local residents. Sunday worship of Jesus Christ is supported by sacred music led by professors from the School of Music and the choir is at the heart of various ministries in education, fellowship, missions, and campus ministry. The Chaplaincy works cooperatively with the Presbyterian and Methodist churches, who were the founding denominations of Yonsei University, while being a model church for all churches in Korea, one that is centered on being open to all.

The Luce Chapel is a classic piece of Asian Modernism architecture. Its construction was sponsored by the Luce Foundation. The design for this building, by architect Kim Seok-Jae, is historically significant as a hybrid of international style and traditional Korean architecture.

In the 1960s-1974, its design and development was sponsored by Henry Robinson Luce, (the founder of “Time,” “Fortune,” “Sports Illustrated,” and “Life” magazines), of the Luce Foundation, in loving memory of his father, Henry Winters Luce, for his devotion to evangelism for Jesus Christ. After graduating from Yale University in 1892, Henry W. Luce spent 2 years at Union Seminary and then another 2 years at Princeton Theological Seminary for his mission training before being ordained by the Presbyterian Board of Foreign Missions in 1897.
