In this data visualization I look at the most-subscribed channels on YouTube since the subscription system was created. Some started out with a different name and had a slow start but many of them have kept producing and gaining new subscribers. Originally there was no money to be earned from publishing videos, the main goal was practice and experience for an eventual job on a major network. These stats come from Wikipedia, Archive.org, Social Blade and the YouTube Fandom site.
