Super quick install video on a catamaran class speed boat using all Pyle Audio marine speakers and subwoofers. The boat is a Nissan Suncat 6 20 footer catamaran-type leisure boat powered by a Yamaha 115HP Saltwater Series 2 stroke outboard engine.

This video focuses on how to cleanly cut speaker holes on boat fiberglass panels. The challenging part is where there is very less space like the helm's side panel as well as the portside speaker. Also focuses on how to cleanly cut square holes for 2DIN stereo units. Next significant thing is how to mount the 2DIN head unit that is sturdy and strong. In doing that, I used a couple of steel mounting brackets bolted on the thin fiber panel. The stereo now won't go anywhere and won't shake a bit.

Another challenging task is to fish the speaker wires around the boat! I used steel wires in fishing them hole to hole and through cabins on both sides of the boat.

All electrical works are straightforward. Four small speakers are powered by the main head unit while the subwoofer, a Pyle Hydra PLMRW10 is powered by a dedicated amplifier, Pyle PLMRMP2A, a 600w 2 channel class D marine amplifier hooked through the head unit's subwoofer out RCAs.

Also installed a battery isolator switch right at the battery compartment for super easy access. Wired a 10 gauge high quality cable from battery compartment all through the helm for general accessory power. All battery terminal lugs are crimped and insulated with proper color-coded heat shrink tubing.

This project is done at the customer's boat yard in Estacio Village, Butuan City, Philippines. As you can see there are several boats around. We are pioneering the boat building game here in Northern Mindanao. Also we are the pioneers in speedboating here in Caraga region.

Boat electrical and audio works is NOT the same as car audio electronics! It is not as easy as you think! Everything must be weather proof and rust proof. You got to be some kind of a hardened professional when you do electricals and electronics on boats. Trust me, it is NEVER easy. So leave all your boat related projects to us.
