A long time in the making... and lots of filming required... I finally test out properly Smart Cruise Control on our UK Hyundai IONIQ Electric.
In this age of Tesla Autopilot - and no doubt advances too in Hyundai's later KONA Electric model - it's important not to think this is advanced 'self driving' even if I might wish it was...
SCC is a driving assist with LOTS of disclaimers, caveats and edge use cases stressed by Hyundai in the IONIQ Electric manual.
Overall though it is useful to have as a day-to-day driving assist, particularly in stop-and-go commuter traffic. It has its limits but I find set to 'Fast' response and 3 or 2 car lengths follow distance, it works out pretty well...
