I remember when I used to be unable to speak to strangers. When I felt like I never fit in. I would meet new people and think everyone was smarter, more confident, had their life more put together. I would never call anyone on the phone, and I’d feel uneasy going to new places.

I always chalked it up to being ‘introverted’ and shy. And while ultimately there’s nothing wrong with being either of those things, some of the limitations I thought they were placing on my life at the time were things I actively wanted to change. It’s not that I wanted to be anyone different, but I wanted to feel more comfortable in who I was.

Low confidence isn’t just about how you look, and it’s not something we just remedy with eating well, and going to the gym, both of which contribute massively to our physical health - but there’s more behind the mindset. Struggles, and limiting beliefs that hold you back and lock you into a narrative, making you feel there’s no room to grow beyond what you currently are.

Today I don’t feel like that anymore. I can start new conversation with people I haven’t met. I don’t second-guess my decisions anywhere near as much. I shifted my self-talk, AND self beliefs. And today I want to share some of the changes I made. And no, it’s not just going to be a few morning affirmations and going to the gym. Let’s go beyond this today.
