“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” star Michaela Coel is already a superhero to many SA survivors who found their voices through her work, the limited series “I May Destroy You” based on Coel’s own experiences as an SA survivor.

One such survivor braved the cold and rain to personally thank Coel who she said helped her not only feel heard and seen but helped friends and family better understand the impact the traumatic event had on her.

Coel won an Emmy award for the series.
