I have been taking my braces under my F-Type R off the car and had them sandblasted and powdercoated, because I like things to be new, even where I don't see it all that much.
There was a service bulletin on these as they tend to rust within the 3 year corrosion warranty, my car is 10 years old and they where still perfectly fine, as it is a dry weather/ stored inside car, but the daily used cars are infected heavily. Mine only had some surface rust ,paint was still on.
