We went to visit the home of Genghis Khan, the ruler of the largest land empire in history - Mongolia!

Both the Mongol society and culture has changed very little over the years. They were basically nomadic farmers who were great horsemen who traveled with their flocks of sheep, camel, and horses - and they still do that today!

Traditional Mongol society is still based on the family, so hospitality to their guests is top priority! Only AFTER being served food and tea did they actually ask us why we came to visit them.

They hold on to some legend and folklore and practice shamanism and animism but they were more than happy to hear us talk about Allah and His message to mankind.

We shared copies of the Quran translated in the Mongolian language; we visited different tribes; spoke to shepherds and local farmers before our main big event of the trip!

We visited some of the most beautiful open fields and flowing rivers where the children would ride their horses and the animals would graze and drink. There we were joined by a much larger group of Mongol tribes who came to hear our message.

We all shared a huge feast of traditional Mongolian cuisine. It's probably the most exciting Mongolian dish, and one of the most tasty too. It was made by cooking meat inside a container of hot stones and water.

We shared our beautiful message of Islam with them and they were eager to see how we prayed! So on the river bank we showed them how to perform Wudu, then the salah — step by step.

Some of the locals had already read the Bible, so they were excited to read the Quran too!

They were all extremely happy and were eager to learn more. At the end we exchanged gifts and said our goodbyes. But we hope this is just the beginning of the Dawah in Mongolia!
