The Subaru Impreza Is one of the better-rouded compact cars in the segment. Although it's no longer as affordable as it once was, the level of standard features, from AWD to EyeSight, make it an ideal alternative to the usual Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. One issue is the absence of an electrified powertrain option, compared to the other Japanese offerings.
