Wind speeds of nearly 1200 miles per hour have been recorded on Neptune. Now, like Jupiter and Saturn, Neptune radiates more heat than it receives. Hence, it has an immense internal heat source. Now, it is hypothesized that this internal heat source is somehow responsible for Neptune's extreme wind speeds.
