The lyrics come mostly from “Yngvars saga víðförla”, which tells in an epic key the story of a military campaign of 1041 to the Abbasid Caliphate led by Ingvar the Far-Travelled. A region which was called by Viking populations Serkland.
The refrain comes from Ingvar runestone Sö179 (Södermanland, Sweden), dedicated to his brother, who died during the campaign. From this runestone, I copied the runic transcription for the refrain.

I know a transcription in runes of such a text doesn’t really have any reason to be, if not as a treat, but yeah…that’s just what it is, bear with me.

Any suggestion and/or observation is warmly welcome.
