About this video: First off, let’s talk about reliability. This is actually our second 428i. The first one we also owned for two years, and in total we have put around 70,000 miles on BMW 428is. Because of this, we have a decent amount of insight on what it is like to maintain one of these cars.

With this particular 428i, things were a bit simpler with maintenance than the first one. The only thing we had to do on this 428i was regular scheduled service. We did, however, do pretty much every regular scheduled service you can do on one of these cars.

The oil was changed every 6 months, we replaced all air filters once a year, the brake fluid was flushed, the coolant system was flushed and replaced, all four spark plugs and coils were replaced, and last but not least we put four new Pirelli tires on it.

All of this maintenance is regularly scheduled for a car over 65,000 miles. With that being said, our mechanic did a through inspection of this car just one month ago and found nothing wrong with it. So as far as reliability goes, this one has been very reliable.

It is worth noting, however, that our first 428i did have a recurrent oil leak due to BMW having a bad part. It is my understand this has now been fixed, but it is worth noting. Luckily, our mechanic was able to replace it every 7,500 miles under their warranty.

I would say that this BMW 428i has been as reliable as you can expect a 428i to be. However, we are also very regular on service. Something I would recommend all BMW owners be very aware of.

The up-keep of this car isn’t the only thing I wanted to talk about though. There is also the fact that for all two years of owning this car, this has been my daily driver. When I need to go somewhere, I took this car. From grocery store runs to road trips halfway across the country, this was my go-to car.

And I’ll be honest. I loved every minute of it.

The BMW 428i to me has always been a great daily driver. However, I am a single man with no kids. At most I would have Patrick in the front seat and squeeze his wife in the back. And it is worth noting that a 5 foot 4 person can fit in the back of the 428i without much of any issues. Well, that is after they have squeezed through the door.

Something else worth mention is the fact that the 428i has a surprising amount of truck space. I have never needed more room in the truck when traveling or when getting groceries. It is a great car to hop around town in, and you will have plenty of space for your luggage or even some golf clubs if that is your thing.

You can’t talk about driving this car every day though without mentioning the sportiness. It is amazing to be able to run to the store, take a backroad to get there, and have a ton of fun. While this car is no M4, it can be fun and peppy when you are pushing it to its limit around the corners.

However, there is one downside. While this car has bluetooth, BMW bluetooth from 2014 has been notoriously horrible. It works, but you have to do all sorts of things to get it working, and it will occasionally break randomly.

So, what are my overall thoughts on the BMW 428i M-Sport? Well, for the price, there isn’t really a better all around sports car. And, while you can find someone in the backseats semi-comfortably, and you do have plenty of room for luggage or groceries, this is a sports car. You can daily drive it, but there may occasionally be limitations because it is a sports car.

In conclusion though, if you want a BMW 428i, I can’t recommend it enough. It will have BMW maintenance issues, it will have limitations being a coupe, but if you’re like me, you’ll love every minute of it.
