"So you say, I'm not the savior of man, but his sacrifical lamb? That I am to die by the hand of the heir of an ill-gotten throne?"

First of all, this AMV is actually a challenge, for myself. I just got the idea, while whining about the fact that I have "too much" material to edit with, and that it is hard to choose the clips for that three or four minutes. So I decided to try the other extreme... and edit something (hopefully) good with very limited material.
This video was done with only three episodes of anime, a seventeen, a fifteen, and a three minutes long one - so all in all, not more that 35 minutes of material was used. No Kingsglaive, no amazing fight scenes, no 3D, only these three episodes... it was a really interesting and hard challenge, I almost gave up by the end, but I'm pretty pleased with how this video turned out.
About the concept: if someone told me four years ago, I will edit with Ardyn someday, I would have been very sceptical. But as the story progressed, I really started to feel sorry for the main villain. Ardyn is victim, in many ways: a victim of the people around him, a victim of hunger for power, of destiny, of passivity, and both his own goodwill and hatred. He is very similar to Noctis, in a lot of aspects, and partly that is why the main character understands, and forgives him in the end... they become polar opposites, darkness and light destined to destroy each other, but the beginning of their journey was almost the same. Both are heirs to the throne, both are engaged to the Oracle, and neither of them are really ambitious... but both see that becoming a king is a duty they have to face for the sake of the people around them, the people they love. The big difference is, that while Ardyn is left alone, betrayed and vengeful, Noctis is sorrounded by love from the beginning to the end, which gives him the chance to rise above everything.
The song is "Empire" from Of Monsters and Men - I really love this band, and I felt that this song fitted well to the story. I consider this video mostly shipping free, but you can see some Aerdyn and LuNoct, if you want to.
