I was invited by Audi to Salalah, Oman to drive the new Audi Q8 e-tron edition Dakar 2024, what an awesome off-road electric SUV!

The new Audi Q8 e-tron edition Dakar 2024 is based on the Audi Q8 advanced 55 e-tron Quattro and inspired by the world’s premier desert rally, The Dakar Rally. The 106 kWh battery delivers 300 kW in boost mode and has a torque of 664Nm making the new e-tron Q8 Dakar edition accelerate from 0-62mph in just 5.9 seconds! The top speed is 124 mph, 200km/h. The grip and handling of the electric SUV are incredible too, due to the special General Grabber AT3 all-terrain tires which help both accelerate and brake on loose terrains.
To be in Oman for the first drive of the new Audi Q8 e-tron edition Dakar was incredible, the varied terrains to put the Q8 Dakar edition through its paces were immense. I was very impressed with how the new electric SUV drove effortlessly over sand, mountains, muddy tracks and even through rivers! The Q8 has ground clearance of 220mm, 65 mm higher than the base model. Having the instant power of the electric motor made it really fun to drive off-road. A great electric off-roader which handles all terrain effortlessly and perfectly mixed with the luxury feel of a special edition Audi.
