After recent episodes focussing on rare exotica from our German and Italian cousins, it's time for a change of pace. Billed by Ford as "The Car You Always Promised Yourself", the Ford Capri was built between 1968 and 1986 as a European equivalent to the Ford Mustang, selling nearly 1.9 million units in it's lifetime. Despite those lofty sales figures, there are reportedly only 15 examples of this particular model, the Mk 1 3000 GT XLR still on UK roads today.

This lovely example is in the workshop for a tune-up before Iain takes it on the road to show that a car doesn't need to be 6 or 7 figures to deliver high "smiles per mile".
