Those of you who have followed me for a while will remember when I created “Carnival Corner” with colourful bunting, flamingoes and it was a lot of fun for a while. But after a year or so, the bunting frayed and I had to take it down and since then that little area has been neglected, unplanted and unloved. Until today!

So last week when I gave my front garden a makeover and took out my Fatsia Japonica Spiders Web plants, it gave me the idea to plant them in this little unloved corner, and it was the start of my new Woodland Courtyard filled with shade loving evergreen plants.

I got my paints out too and repainted lizards, a cat and a hedgehog, spray painted two planters and added some whimsical metal artwork pieces I found on Amazon, tidied up my potting bench and greenhouse and planted the following shade loving evergreens:

Ivy
Dryopteris Felix-Mas
Polystichum Tsussimense
Taxus BACCATA ‘FASTIGIATA Robusta’
