Hi everyone! Today I’ll show you how I painted these beetles using a Line & Wash technique – this technique means that you use your watercolours and your liners (a type of pen with waterproof ink).

Painting these beetles was a very fun process, I simply enjoyed dropping my watercolours here and there to see what the final result will be – I suggest you do the same!

Which beetle is your favorite?

Here is a link to download the document with the outlines for each beetle, you can print just one or all of them and transfer the outlines to your paper:

List of materials:
Canson Heritage Cold Pressed 100% Cotton Paper (300 gr)
Da Vinci Maestro Brush Size 6
Thin brush for details (Raphaelle Sepia Deco 6/0)
Flat brush to remove watercolours
Paul Rubens watercolours
Pencil, eraser
Staedtler pigment liners (0.2, 0.1 and 0.05)

I hope you enjoyed this video! Don’t forget to show me your beetles, I’d love to see your result! 😍
