Big thanks to Dave Hayes for letting me behind the wheel of his car! Check him out at:

Back in late September, the Moparinsiders team made the journey out to Grand Bend, Ontario to attend a private track rental that was put on by our friend Dave Hayes. Dave rented out the drag strip for the day and invited other Mopar owners to enter their cars in the event for a full day of drag racing.

I loaded up the Moparinsiders Long-Term Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and made the four-day-long drive across the country to come out and have a bit of fun with other Mopar fanatics at a quarter-mile drag strip. The morning of the event didn’t look too promising as a rainstorm had just passed us by, but luckily the clouds dissipated, the sun came out and the track employees dried and prepped the track.

Temperatures for the day hovered around 27-29 degrees celsius (80-84F) and the D.A (Density Altitude) hovered between 3400-3600 feet. I spent much of the day making passes in our Trackhawk while Dave was giving out thrill rides in his Demon. After that was all said and done Dave took me for a ride in the Demon and then said it was my turn to take the wheel of the 840 horsepower supercharged drag racing icon.

I was extremely excited and yet a bit nervous to get behind the wheel of the Demon, but the car was surprisingly fairly easy to drive, while at the same time gives you a feeling like no other. To see how I did you’ll have to watch the video above, but if you ever get the chance to experience a Demon, take it. There is nothing else from the showroom floor that compares, I promise you that.

I also want to give a big shout out and thank you to my friend Dave Hayes for allowing me the opportunity to drive his car, make sure you check him out at Bigbadamericanmotors on Youtube and Instagram.
