I've had two slim line lithium batteries fail in just 11 month's, they were installed in my 4WD to run all of my camping accessories while Im off grid.
I thought i had them mounted in the perfect location in my 4WD, lying down on there side, and just maybe thats why the drama's began.
My understanding was, you could mount a lithium battery in any configuration you wanted that would suit the space the you have in your 4WD, camper trail etc.
After having the third slim line lithium battery installed, i learnt very quickly that it's not the case.
When i got home after having battery number 3 installed, i read through the installation manual, and it clearly states that the lithium battery must be installed in an upright orientation.
So, i then had to have the third battery removed from the location that the first two where mounted, down under the false floor lying on it's side.
That slim line lithium battery is now mounted in the rear of my 4WD in an upright orientation as per manufacturer specifications.
If you are making the change to a lithium battery to run your camping accessories, make sure you check the correct ways to mount the lithium battery.
You don't want to go through the drama that i have.
