Neck pain sucks. Here is a simple guide on how you can start reducing your neck pain while at home.

Through consistent effort, you can reduce and even get rid of your neck pain by following these suggestions.

Stop mouth breathing and focus on breathing through your nose.
The benefits are 2 fold.

1. When your mouth is closed, you can keep your tongue on the roof of your mouth which engages your cervical (neck) flexors and provides more stability to your neck
2. When you mouth breath, it triggers the use of accessory muscles in your neck to aid in breathing. This causes excess tension in your neck and can cause pain through overuse.

Work towards using a towel instead of a pillow. Gradually ween yourself off of pillows and start sleeping on your back as shown in the video.

Every morning do the No, Yes, Ear to Shoulder, and neck circles in a pain-free manner. Talk to your neck and tell it it's ok and that it can relax and feel good.

Do this as an exercise using a swiss ball against the wall.

If you have really bad neck pain and can afford it, I highly recommend the iron neck as it is the best piece of equipment I have used for neck pain
