the Nissan Qashqai is one of the most popular and successful models in the compact crossover segment with over 3 million units sold worldwide since its launch in 2006
the current third generation Kashkai was introduced in 2021and it was a huge improvement over the previous model with a sleeker design a more spacious and refined interior and a range of advanced safety and technology features however the competition in this segment is fierce and Nissan is not resting on its laurels the Japanese automaker is already preparing a facelifted version of the KushKai aiming to maintain its competitive edge and attract more customers
the updated Kashkai will debut sometime this year and it will go on sale before the end of 2025 so what can we expect from the new Kashkai well the most noticeable change is the front end which gets a completely new look the face lifted Kashkai adopts a more futuristic and aerodynamic appearance inspired by Nissan's Aria EV which was unveiled last year
the grill is larger and more prominent with a cascading shape and a chrome frame the headlamps are slimmer and sharper with the daytime running lights separated from the main units the lower bumper has a new design with a wide air intake and fog lights on the sides
the side profile of the Cash Guy remains largely unchanged except for some new chrome trim on the lower door cladding and some new wheel designs
the rear end also gets a minor update with a new bumper that incorporates a diffuser and a pair of exhaust tips the tail lights have the same shape as before but they feature a new LED graphic that gives them a more modern look the new Kashkai will also offer some new color options including a stunning white shade that you can see in these spy photos
the white color contrasts nicely with the black roof mirrors and pillars creating a two tone effect that adds some flare to the SUV moving on to the interior the Kush Kai will retain its practical and comfortable cabin but with some enhancements and upgrades
the dashboard and the center console will remain the same but they will get some new materials and colors as well as some new buttons and knobs as for the power train the Kashkai will continue to offer a range of electrified options as Nissan aims to reduce its carbon footprint and meet the stricter emission standards
the base engine will be a 1.3 litre four cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 157 horsepower and 199 pound feet of torca this engine will be paired with a CVT transmission and it will have a mild hybrid system that uses a 12 volt battery
to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions the Coshka will also offer an all wheel drive option for those who want more traction and stability the Coshka will also have a battery electric version but it will not arrive until after 2025 when Nissan will launch a new platform dedicated to electric vehicles this platform will allow the Kashkai to have a larger battery
a longer range and a faster charging capability as well as more space and performance the pricing of the new Koszkei is not yet confirmed expected to be slightly higher than the current model which starts at around $30,000 approximately $38,000 in the UK for the mild hybrid model the E power variant will likely cost more and it could reach up to $43,000 for the fully loaded version
