British Heart Foundation (BHF) celebrated its 6th annual Heart Hero Awards on Wednesday 6 December 2023 at Glaziers Hall in London.

The annual awards recognised some of our CPR Heroes who demonstrated incredible courage and bravery by attempting to save a person’s life from cardiac arrest by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR.

While in his car, Craig had a heart attack as he was taking to his wife, Victoria, on the phone.

Craig then went into cardiac arrest, and as the call went silent Victoria knew there was something very wrong.

She called, his close friend and workmate, Kevin as they had not long been to the gym together.

Kevin instinctively jumped into his car and within minutes found his friend collapsed in his vehicle at the side of the road.

Pulling Craig from behind the wheel, Kevin performed CPR until the emergency services arrived.

Victoria nominated Kevin as a CPR Hero, as without Kevin’s quick thinking and actions Craig would not have survived.
